EXHIBITION APONTEBORETTI

Starting from a research on the industrial extrusion of construction bricks explore new fields of ceramic moulding and its expression potential. The traditional practice is switched with the act of subtraction in order to edit its solid aesthetic and bring back an open interpretation of the construction brick, ready to embrace new meanings. The unfinished shape is frozen by the firing process while the glazing vibrates throughout the surface enchanting a new life of the brick. For the exhibition the idea was to show the objects on a flat surface creating a “forest” of bricks where the combination of colors and shapes allows the visitor to compare the objects clearly. The steel bookcase (filled with polystyrene sheets), lying along one side, becomes the supporting element for the bricks.
